a joyful whirlwind: summer so far
Whew—summer has been a whirlwind already, and honestly, I’m still catching my breath! We kicked things off with a sweet solo trip to NYC—just me and my husband. It was the first time we’d traveled without the kids in a long time, and it felt like a total reset in the best way. From there, we headed into one of our favorite traditions: a week on the Gulf Coast of Florida, complete with sandy toes, salty breezes, and plenty of family time.
Just this week, we got back from Atlanta after picking up our oldest two boys, who spent a week in Nashville with their cousins. They had an amazing time, and I loved the slower pace of life with just our younger two at home. Of course, a few things slipped through the cracks—hello, Instagram feed—but the quiet moments were worth it.
This next month is shaping up to be more of the same—a balance of home days and travel days, snuggles and suitcase zippers, laundry piles and late-night card games. And while it’s definitely a little exhausting, it’s also been filled with so much joy.
I’m hoping to slow down soon and share more behind-the-scenes projects (including some very exciting things happening in the sewing room!), but for now, I’m soaking it all in as it happens. Thanks for being here—even when things are a little quieter than usual.
What’s your summer rhythm been like—crazy, calm, or a little bit of both? I’d love to hear how you're spending your days, and if you’ve been making time for any creative projects along the way. Leave a comment below or come say hi over on Instagram!
