About the Collection: Color Pop Playground
In 2024, I kicked off a 100-day creative challenge, filling my sketchbook with daily drawings just for the fun of it. No big plans, no pressure—just playful exploration. With four busy boys at home, it was a chance to reconnect with creativity for creativity’s sake.
The name Color Pop Playground comes from two things: the pops of color that filled each page and the sense of freedom my sketchbook gave me—like a creative playground where anything was possible. There were no rules—just one simple prompt: draw what inspired me that day. That freedom led to a collection that’s eclectic, playful, and deeply personal. Every piece carries a little spark from my everyday life and reminds me what happens when we make time to play.
Themes & Inspiration
This collection is bursting with joyful color and inspired by the things I love most:
– Hand-stitched motifs
– English Paper Piecing projects
– Cheerful florals
– Little everyday moments from life at home
It’s a mix of what was on my mind, on my sewing table, and in my heart during those 100 days.
A Few Personal Favorites
Hexie Garden
Inspired by the scrappy Hexie Garden quilt I’ve been working on. Hexagons really are the bestagons!
Berry Sweet
A playful nod to the pineberries my boys were obsessed with last winter—they couldn’t get enough!
Shelved
Stacks of books always seem to appear in our house—on shelves, in corners, or clutched in little hands. This pattern is a tribute to the organized chaos of a home filled with readers.
