a little peek behind the lens

You may or may not know that a pretty big part of my creative business is photography. It’s something that grew naturally alongside my design work, and over the years it has become one of my very favorite ways to create. I get to work with the most amazing makers and photograph truly dreamy products. These images go on to live in pattern covers, social media feeds, shop listings, newsletters and more, and every time I see them out in the world it gives me that little spark of “wow, I get to do this.”

One of the projects I look forward to every single year is photographing Ann’s, from Stitch Supply Co, Advent box. It has become a sweet tradition for me, and honestly, it always feels like opening a bit of magic. Ann curates these boxes with so much intention and joy. Every item feels special, and I love getting to capture that feeling behind the camera.

And speaking of magic… did you SEE the cards that Sarah Watts designed for Day 7 this year? They are absolutely stunning. Photographing them was such a treat, and I kept thinking about how beautifully Sarah’s and Jane’s talents shine through in the details. Truly fan-frickin’-tastic work!!

Huge shoutout to Sarah and Jane for knocking it out of the park, and to Ann for putting together such a thoughtful and joyful box once again. I’m grateful to be a small part of something that brings so much delight to makers during the holiday season.

Thanks for being here and for supporting all the creative corners of my little business, it means more than you know. 💛
