Apparently I’m not done talking about Ghostly Garden quilts yet 😂
The more I sew with this collection and start pulling fabrics for projects, the more ideas I end up with. So I wanted to share a few more Halloween quilt pattern ideas that I think would work beautifully with Ghostly Garden, along with some of my favorite backing and binding combinations for the collection.

Quilt Cakes Cosmic Dust Quilt
I also received an absolutely BEAUTIFUL Ghostly Garden mockup for Cosmic Dust from Quilt Cakes and honestly… this pattern feels made for this collection.
Cosmic Dust is a mix-and-match style quilt pattern that’s wonderful for:
fussy cutting
showcasing favorite prints
fat quarter bundles
mixing bold colors and blenders
The pattern includes: crib, small and large throw sizes, making it really versatile. I really love how this pattern uses generous 16" finished blocks because they give the fabric prints room to breathe and really show off the details.
This pattern would be especially perfect if you love: stars, bold layouts, scrappy color play, larger scale blocks. I think any advanced begginer could tackle this quilt wihtout problems.
Quilt Cakes Telephone Game Quilt
Okay… Telephone Game is RIDICULOUSLY cute in Ghostly Garden. The playful shapes pair so well with the mix of florals, ginghams, webs, and spooky prints throughout the collection.
The pattern includes:
one throw size
two alternating blocks
pillow and wall hanging instructions
fat quarter friendly cutting
I especially love that this quilt gives opportunities to feature larger focal prints while still keeping the quilt feeling scrappy and playful overall.
My Favorite Quilt Backing Fabrics for Ghostly Garden
There are honestly SO many prints in Ghostly Garden that would make fun quilt backs, especially if you love a bold backing fabric as much as I do.
A few of my personal favorites are:
Floral Frights
Web & Bloom
skeleton jig
Ghost Party
Sew Spooky
I especially love using larger scale prints on quilt backs because they really get a chance to shine there.
Favorite Binding Ideas for Halloween Quilts
Binding might secretly be one of my favorite parts of finishing a quilt.
For Ghostly Garden quilts, my top binding picks would definitely be:
the ginghams
Floral Frights
Stardust blenders
I especially love striped or gingham bindings on Halloween quilts because they add so much playful movement around the edge of the quilt. They feel fun and scrappy without being too busy.
