patchwork & petals fabric collection | inspiration behind my newest andover fabrics line

I am so excited to finally be sharing my newest fabric collection with you… Patchwork & Petals!

This collection has felt especially personal from the very beginning. It was inspired by two things that always seem to bring me back to myself when life feels busy or overwhelming: quilting and florals.

There’s something about creating with fabric that slows me down in the best possible way. The rhythm of stitching, the process of piecing things together, the little details that slowly build into something meaningful… it all feels grounding to me. That feeling became the heart of this collection.

The Inspiration Behind Patchwork & Petals

Patchwork & Petals was inspired by the calm rhythm of slow stitching, hand quilting, embroidery, and the comforting process of creating something with your hands.

While designing this collection, I kept coming back to the similarities between quilts and flowers. Both are layered and full of detail. Both can feel playful, soft, bold, or expressive depending on how they’re put together. And both have a beautiful way of telling a story without needing words.

I wanted this collection to feel joyful and creative while still feeling comforting and approachable. The prints are filled with quilt-inspired details, florals, tiny stitched elements, and playful color combinations that feel very true to the way I love to sew and create.

Designed With Quilters and Makers in Mind

As a quilter myself, I always think about how fabric will actually be used while I’m designing.

I wanted Patchwork & Petals to have:

strong focal prints

useful blenders

versatile stripes

prints that work beautifully for quilts, bags, bindings, and smaller sewing projects

The collection has a saturated and playful color palette, but I worked hard to make sure the prints still feel cohesive and easy to mix together. I love collections that give you lots of options depending on the mood you want to create. You can lean into the warm pinks and yellows, pull the aquas and teals, or mix everything together for something bright and full of personality.

A Collection Made for Creating

One of my favorite parts of fabric design is knowing that these prints eventually leave my studio and become part of someone else’s creativity. That still feels incredibly special to me every single time.

I truly cannot wait to see what you create with Patchwork & Petals. Quilts, bags, garments, home decor, scrappy projects… I love seeing how differently everyone brings fabric to life.

This collection is currently available for preorder through Andover Fabrics and will begin arriving in shops in October 2026.

And this is definitely not the last time I’ll be talking about this collection 😊 I have more projects, fabric pairings, and behind-the-scenes details to share soon. Until then, I hope you enjoy this little peek into the world of Patchwork & Petals 💛
