quilted spider pillow made with ghostly garden fabric
I’ve been so busy lately that I realized I never actually shared the finished project I made with one of my Ghostly Garden sample blocks 😅
A little while back I showed you all my spider quilt block, lovingly named Webster, but I don’t think I ever shared what he eventually turned into… and honestly, he might be one of my favorite projects I’ve made from the collection so far.
Instead of turning the block into a full quilt, I decided to make him into a quilted Halloween pillow for our home and I absolutely love how it came together.
For the background, I used the spiderweb print from my Ghostly Garden fabric collection so Webster could live right at home in his little web 🕸️ I also used the gingham print for the spider body, which adds such a fun playful texture and vintage feel to the block.
One of my favorite things about quilting projects like this is that they don’t have to be huge to feel special. Sometimes a single block and a fun fabric pairing is enough to create something really charming for your home.
I think seasonal quilted pillows are such a fun way to use novelty prints and experiment with fabric combinations without committing to an entire quilt top.
The Pattern Details
The spider block I used for this project comes from the Pen and Paper Patterns Spider Quilt pattern, which is such a fun and playful Halloween quilt design.
And the fabric is from my Ghostly Garden collection for Andover Fabrics, which is currently arriving in quilt shops now 👻💛
If you’re sewing with Ghostly Garden, I would genuinely LOVE to see what you’re making. Please tag me if you share your projects because seeing your creativity with my fabric never gets old.
And now I have to ask… what would YOU make with this collection? 👀
